I am glad you typed “Supposed tendency” because that’s what it is. Both countries have fought each other for various reasons. It has not been one side or the other. To say it has only been England doing the warring is ridiculous and a lie. Just read the history books. Just look at the present new labour cabinet and government? Was there ever a supposed U.K. government like that before?

The general English population did not want the union with scotland either, it wasn’t just the average scot who didn’t want it. King James was scottish. He was the one who made the English navy use the union flag. It wasn’t an Englishman who imposed it on scotland.

In reality, the scottish have invaded England at Westminster. That is why we have the present anti-English bigotry happening. Tony Blair the scotsman started it.

Yes Gavin, they are very aware of what they have allowed fellow scots and welsh to do to England in their name. How can they not be aware? I haven’t seen them trying to stop it though.

I am sure all I used to hear was how scotland and wales was being “oppressed” by England BEFORE 1997. In their eyes, it was legitimate to spout that, even if they were still getting more money per head via the barnett formula than English people. Now though, we have scottish and welsh journalists, politicians and everyday folk saying that it is okay to practise anti-democracy! They certainly didnt think it was okay prior to 1997 so why the change? I can only come to the conclusion that they’re a bunch of bigots!
There never was an English government who tried to abolish scotland, but they think it’s perfectly okay for a scotch-welsh government to try and abolish England. Hypocrites to a man! And, when I debate this with scots or welsh I always get the overwhelming feeling that i’m dealing with teenagers, i.e. they leave me with the feeling it’s their way or no way! It is always, “well, you did this to us”, “you stole our oil”. Firstly, King James WANTED to go to London. Secondly, IF scotland is in the union then it isn’t “their” oil, but England’s, scotland’s wale’s and Northern Ireland’s oil! Of course, they never let the truth get in the way or bigotry!

I think some of them have a genuine concern about England’s supposed tendency to try to overwhelm Scotland and Wales. There is no such hidden agenda and it seems to smack slightly of an irrational fear…

And yes, I do think that some Scots just don’t want us to have it because of their dislike of the English…. But I cannot understand why and I hope we’re wrong.

It is very odd that the jocks taffs and paddies DID NOT question scotland and wales having political representation when scotland and wales got their parliament/assembly in the 1990′s. Why would they now be questioning English people having their own parliament? They did not do it for the scottish and welsh people! Hmmmm? Seriously, what would make them have one attitude to scotland and wales and the exact opposite attitude when it comes to the English nation and people? Yep! It must be because they are bigots! What other answer can there be?
It really doesn’t matter whether England’s parliament will be representing more people (one of the bogus reasons used by anti-English folks) what matters is what the English nation and people want. SCOTS AND WELSH STAY OUT OF OUR BUSINESS! YOU WONT LIKE US WHEN WE GET MAD!
