Council Tax Rip Off

West Sussex

County Councils in the north east of England pay 26 per cent. of the net cost of services provided to them by their county councils.

Those of us in the south have been routinely asked to pay more tax in comparison which accounts for 42 per cent. of the net cost of services. West Sussex has received an ‘Excellent’ rating several times recently and yet it continues to receive less funding than is necessary to stop the residents of the county from suffering either extreme Council Tax rises or cuts in services.

Now I am sure there are services being provided that I, and all the other constituents, could do without but that does not detract from the fact that Labour is trying to redistribute wealth not from the rich to the poor, but from the poorest in the relatively-rich south to all in the relatively poor north. It must be obvious to all that this is unfair.
