Quote of the Day

Quote of the Day is this week [sic] from Alistair Darling on why it is right that from May 2010 it will be illegal to sell in our culture’s measures: pounds (lbs) and ounces (ozs):

“Err, well, erm… You’ll have to accept it…”

Watch this week’s Question Time again to see UKIP’s Nigel Farage attacking Labour’s unprotected underbelly here.

Oh, and since when has it been acceptable for the presenter to include an anecdote that supports, whether intentionally or not, one particular point of view?

Nigel Farage seriously impressed me tonight and I’m not usually impressed by UKIP very often (the wish to leave the EU is sound but they come across as a small band of right-wing, middle-aged loons). I think I agreed with everything he said. Spot on.

Notice how, when challenged on the fact that it will be illegal from May 2010 to sell goods in pounds and ounces, he attacks Farage for being ‘virulently anti-European’, thereby proving he has lost the argument. What a nasty little quisling Darling really is.
