I would rather that it did not have such a law, same goes for Germany, but I can understand in their cases the extreme sensitivity which decided them to have it. I don't often agree with Germaine Greer, but she had it correct on 'Any Questions' on Friday when she said the correct response with Irivig would be to treat him for what he is - a 'complete nutter'. The man is quite obviously seriously deluded and has been for most of his life - his twin brother Nicolas is interviewed in today's Telegraph and it is clear that his delusions go back a very long way. He will still think as he does now, I fear, when he is released from prison and will no doubt be welcomed as a speaker at lots of extreme right-wing venues. He was a fool to risk going back to Austria after their action dating from 1989, but he probably relished the prospect of notoriety and/or martyrdom - I have little sympathy for him.
