Elect the Lords vs. Don’t Elect the Lords

On Wednesday night (to much applause) there’ll be a fight on this and another blog.

The voiceover has an unnecessarily serious voice, but the stakes couldn’t be higher.

The Fight.

Wednesday.

Should we:

- Elect the Lords (in the green corner)
- Not Elect the Lords (in the orange corner).

    I’ll watch (and comment) with interest – I am in the ‘no’ camp with regards to electing the Lords, but to be fair I don’t know enough about it. It’d be interesting to see if you can change my mind!

    Well the current system in clearly broken.

    But if we were to elect them it would need to be a different format than the current political party system. Otherwise it would just become a reflection of the Commons.
