If you were in government and had some spare money in the public’s finances there would be four choices open to you:
- Cut the ridiculously high taxes
- Increase spending (bad idea — the government’s NHS debacle has shown it doesn’t work)
- Keep it for a rainy day
- Rearrange toilets in prison to suit a particular religious requirement
I know I’d choose the first one. I know that most sensible people in the world would agree that one of the first three is right. So why is our stupid government doing the last?

Its Labour, they know they have let hundreds of Muslims into the country who want to kill us, but they are desperate to keep the pretence going as long as possible by pandering to their every ‘need’.

It’s debateable how many want to kill us (though clearly some do). We’ll have to see what happens when Iran goes nuclear. There’s an article in yesterday’s Spectator which is well worth buying the magazine to read!
Oh, and I agree entirely with Matthew Parris’ views this week too.
