Rustington West had a by-election yesterday and the votes came in as follows:
| Party | 2006 By-election | 2003 (AJD’s Figures) |
|---|---|---|
| Conservative | 44% | 53% |
| Liberal Democrats | 33% | 35% |
| UKIP | 15% | 7.7% |
| Labour | 6% | 4% |
The reason for posting this is the results for UKIP. People don’t, I am sure, prefer UKIP in any sense except that they have a more reasonable position on the EU. When will my party start listening?
Update: Using Daily Propaganda’s figures, I’ve added a column for 2003’s results.

Let’s hope this result is a forcast for the May elections. And let’s hope it’s better than the MET’s!

How do these results compare to the previous?
I am glad UKIP is increasing in strength, I don’t think its just about the EU though, they have a tougher asylum policy, lower tax, etc.

9 Tory MPs have come out in support of a Better Off Out (www.betteroffout.co.uk) campaign to highlight the free trade and democracy benefits of leaving the EU according to today’s Telegraph. Good on them!
