Let’s just privatise (properly) the Royal Mail and open all its markets up to complete competition. I look forward to using an alternative post-box.

I’m sure you’ll eat those words if it actually happens.
Just think, we’ll have about 4 Posties delivering to your house, hundreds of new boxes littering our streets, how much more chance is there of a letter to go missing then?
And it’s not like its currently expensive to send an item. I can’t see what the benefits are.

The service is steadily decreasing in quality; multiple deliveries, above inflation price hikes…. Not to mention the ideological principle involved — the government shouldn’t run businesses.
