I can't make my mind up about this one.

My immediate reaction is about blooming time and it couldn't get here quicker.

However a small alarm bell is going off in my head. This Government is hellbent on dropping us headfirst into the EU sharkpool of ever closer intergration. Most of the EU courts are of the Napoleonic outlook that you are guilty first and must prove your innocence.

Surely this couldn't be a disguise for yet more EU interference? I hope not I really do

Whilst I do believe John Reid is one of the better Labour MPs, and he certainly seems to be the only "can do" Labour minister, I am sceptical as to whether he will go as far as is necessary – The reality is that there are far too many problems in the Home Office, and it does need major reform.

Having said that, I've far more confidence in him being the Home Secretary than either of his two predecessors: Charles Clarke and David Blunkett.
