Ironic because 1. Millions spent on marketing campaign to tell us something that we have to do by law. 2. Despite the mantra, tax is taxing, even filing online. How can the average working family be expected to work out tax credits they are due when a) self employed people have a hard time, b) businesses have to employ accountants and worst of all c) The government department responsible for tax can't even get it right! And you might have an answer to this Gav, but why is it in private industry reduced costs follow increased output, IT systems reduce costs and incompetent managers/employees are sacked where as in public companies, it's often the opposite?
