I've just written a post on this subject:
http://billcameron.blogspot.com/2007/07/ex-minister-gisela-stuart-calls-for-eu.html
- there's a link at the end to the EU Council website where you can read/download what is in the new amending treaty; unfortunately very little of it is yet up in English; so far only the French version is online. I'm going to be reading it in detail over the next few weeks to see if my initial impression that we DO need a referendum is borne out; Gisela Stuart is not my ultimate favourite person (joke!), but she has always struck me as being pretty straightforward, for an MP (and a Labour one to boot!), so if she thinks it is very similar to the discredited constitutional treaty then I'm inclined to believe her.
