Today we were lucky enough to have two different popular team sports showing on terrestrial television. Ireland vs. Italy in the Six Nations rugby and Manchester United vs. Derby County in the FA cup football (soccer).

And what a neat comparison it makes: a poor game of rugby in the second half was infinitely more entertaining than a good game of soccer that followed. To such an extent, in fact, that I have now given up watching the soccer game in favour of a bit of writing.

Let’s have televised rugby union on the terrestrial channels and let’s complete the hand-over from soccer to rugby which professional union initiated not so long ago.
